MODERN ICONOCLASM

this is a study on items and people that culture has put on a pedestal throughout history. things we spend money, time, energy, and emotion on. parasocial relationships, materialism, etc. culture assigns value to things that are not inherently valuable. featured: 1956 chevrolet corvette in venetian red, 1930s hermès kelly bag (famously carried and named for grace kelly in the 1950s), and so many more. what makes these people and things valuable as opposed to others?

this collection was on display during the fall of 2022 at the trinity art gallery in addison, texas. it was part of a curated show featuring art from alumni of trinity christian academy. individual pieces from this collection are available for purchase (pricing available upon request). commissions for similar pieces are open.
